About the series

Pop Culture is a collection of moments that marked me personally. A character I was obsessed with as a kid. A scene I never forgot. A ridiculous line that still makes me laugh. A costume, a creature, a gesture, or an image that somehow lodged itself in my brain and never left.

There is no objective canon here. The only rule is that the reference has to mean something to me. Some connect to childhood, fantasy, humour, queer identity, fear, beauty, nostalgia, or pure visual obsession.

I redraw them through my own language, reducing each memory to the detail, attitude, or emotion that made it stick in the first place.

Why I made this

I think our imagination is built from thousands of things we absorb before we even understand why they matter.

Movies, television, music, books, toys, characters, and completely random cultural moments became part of how I learned to imagine worlds, understand humour, recognize beauty, and escape into something bigger than everyday life.

This series is my way of going back to those fragments and asking why they stayed. Not because they were necessarily important to everyone, but because they were important to me.

Together, they become a kind of self-portrait made from everything I loved, feared, laughed at, obsessed over, and carried with me.
